About Happy Smiles: 

Happy Smiles Training CIC is a disabled people’s-led social enterprise, made up of over 90% of local disabled people and over 60% of their full-time employees are local disabled people. We deliver training to schools, community groups and businesses across the Northwest and have positively impacted over 10,000 people. This year, we were named Greater Manchester Community Business of the Year and named on the Shaw Trust Disability Power 100 list – a list of the most influential disabled people and organisations in the UK.

Our offer to businesses:

We offer training to businesses as we believe that we can improve the local economy by creating increased access to their industry for disabled people. We will work with their organisation to effectively recruit and retain disabled employees, whilst considering the development of equal opportunities for all. Our training will give them the opportunity to create and sustain an inclusive and accessible workplace, whilst supporting the needs of disabled customers. We offer lots of different training such as: 

Becoming Disability Confident, Inclusive Language & Communication and Positive Risk Management. 

Successes in 2022:

This year, we have delivered to a range of local and regional organisations, such as Wigan Council, Manchester United Community Foundation, Greenmount Projects Ltd, Edge Hill University and Stephenson’s Solicitors. Feedback from those sessions includes:

Fundraising:

We are always open to ideas of support from local businesses, to help raise awareness and funds to support our work, and we have just raised over £1000 after a ‘Christmas light switch on’ and over £2000 during a ‘Ladies Day Event’.
