This week, our Business Directory Member Spotlight shines on Daffodils Dreams, a fantastic charity dedicated to supporting vulnerable children and families in Wigan. With an exciting year ahead, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved and make a meaningful impact!
Key Events in 2025
🎭 Annual Summer Ball – June 14, 2025
Save the date for an evening of glamour, entertainment, and fundraising at our 4th Annual Summer Ball! All proceeds go directly toward helping children in need. We’d love to see POW members there – stay tuned for ticket details!
🚶 Family Hike
Enjoy the great outdoors while raising funds for a great cause! Our family-friendly hike will bring the community together for a fun and meaningful day. Details to be announced soon!
🏃 Running Events
Wigan 5K – March 2025: Walk, jog, or run with us to raise awareness and funds for Daffodils Dreams.
Wigan 10K – September 2025: Join our team or cheer us on as we push toward another fundraising milestone!
💪 Nige’s No Rush Challenge – June 28, 2025
This is one event you don’t want to miss!
Our very own Nige is taking on the “Walk of Pain”, an epic endurance challenge where he’ll trek from our boutique to The Boar’s Head in Standish—all while wearing an 80kg vintage diving suit! He’ll be making stops at various pubs along the way, and we need your help to make sure he gets through this incredible challenge.
How You Can Help
We’re calling on strong-willed (and strong-armed!) supporters to step up and assist Nige at each pub stop by:
✔️ Helping to remove and replace his heavy diving helmet—it takes two people at each stop.
✔️ Carrying his lightweight foldable chair so he can rest along the way.
✔️ Volunteering for just one pub stop to ensure Nige has all the support he needs throughout this journey.
This isn’t just about lifting and carrying—it’s about being part of an unforgettable event that brings together community spirit, camaraderie, and a whole lot of fun! We’re also reaching out to Wigan Warriors and Wigan Athletic players to see if they can lend a hand (or a strong shoulder!). Let’s show the strength and heart of our Wigan community and give Nige the best support possible.
